Energy Rebates For Attic Insulation

One of the simplest and most effective ways to cut home energy costs is by adding or replacing insulation. In addition to reducing heating and cooling bills, proper insulation reduces air leaks that lead to drafts and high utility bills. Many utility companies offer rebates for insulation and other energy-efficient upgrades that help homeowners offset the installation cost.

For example, the TVA EnergyRight® program offers a rebate for attic insulation and a separate incentive for whole-home weatherization improvements. These include duct sealing, heat pump and smart thermostat installations. The program also offers a free home energy assessment to identify areas that need improvement and provides recommendations for making the most of your insulation investment.

In addition to utility The Foam Guy rebates, the federal government provides tax credits for eligible energy-efficient home improvements. This includes insulation and other envelope improvements, like weather stripping and house wrap. Homeowners can claim up to $1,200 of the total materials cost for these upgrades on their taxes. The credit is available annually through 2032.

During the installation process, installers must use qualified insulation products and follow certain guidelines. This includes using a licensed professional (although some DIY installations qualify). Additionally, the installer must use a certified testing facility for the product and ensure that the installation meets International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) standards.
